1 in 3 People are Thinking of Moving to a New City in 2022

People are quickly flocking out of these top three cities: New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco. As of February of 2022, Miami remained the #1 destination for relocators, especially from these three major cities. In fact, the top origin of relocators to Miami were those from New York, NY. Miami was followed by Tampa, Sacramento, Phoenix and Las Vegas, all of which were affordable metropolitan areas with desirable, warm weather.

A lot of these Northern people moving for the better quality of life, fewer taxes, space and warmer weather, are high-ranking executives who are accelerating the real estate market and the overall economy in Miami. We’ve noticed these impacts in Pinecrest. As one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Miami, we saw a growth of 33% in home sale price from February 2021 to February 2022. We also saw a decrease in months of inventory by 9%, meaning that homes are selling faster, and for higher prices.

This influx of people isn’t expected to slow down anytime soon. A lot of this is influenced by Covid-19 and the new segment of work-from-home employees, who are desiring more space and an area to hang out outdoors.
